Well-being is more than just physical health. It is about the whole person—mind, body and spirit. At Notre Dame Health Care, we are committed to promoting physical, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and social wellness through a range of holistic and diverse programs that enrich and enhance lives, encourage socialization, and provide meaning and purpose.
Namaste is a Hindu word that means “to honor the spirit within.”
This word beautifully describes Notre Dame Health Care’s philosophy of honoring the spirit of all we serve.
I honor the place in you
in which the entire Universe dwells,
I honor the place in you
which is of Love, of Truth, of Light and of Peace.
When you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me,
we are One.
By sharing the Namaste philosophy, residents who can no longer participate in traditional activities receive individualized care in a quiet area where they may experience the soothing sounds of nature, music, and aromas of lavender, fresh oranges, cinnamon, or flowers.
Residents can peacefully listen to music together, have their hair gently brushed, or have a hand or foot massage. Nutritious snacks will stimulate their taste buds. Families are welcome to be with their loved ones to enjoy this experience together.
