NDEBC is pleased to welcome back Sr. Gerry Stanton of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur! Sister Gerry assists our students in preparing Citizenship applications and studying/prepping for the Naturalization interview.
Sister Gerry joined fellow SNDdeN’s Sr. Ellen Dabrieo and Sr. Marie Prefontaine at the Humanitarian Respite Center run by Catholic Charities on the Mexican border in McAllen, Texas. For the two weeks they were in McAllen, the Sisters made sandwiches for the refugees, delivered supplies over the bridge to those living in the No Man’s Land in Mexico, and worked with the families and children awaiting asylum interviews. Despite living in tents and washing clothes in the Rio Grande, the refugees are grateful to have some semblance of the safety they left their homes to find.
We at NDHC are proud of the work our Sisters do for others.
