Notre Dame Health Care will celebrate the completion of nearly $13 million in major renovations to its assisted living community with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, October 12 at 4pm at 555 Plantation Street.

The renovation project spanned nearly three years and was challenged by pandemic related concerns along the way.

Notre Dame Health Care’s du Lac Assisted Living Residence opened in 2000 following the conversion of what was a place of respite and rejuvenation for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Since that time, du Lac has been home to many Sisters of the congregation as well as the lay community.

The interior has been modernized and transformed into a state-of-the-art community located on 21 peaceful and secluded acres in Worcester, MA. Edge to edge renovations to the facility included the reconfiguration and refreshing of the Harmony Neighborhood memory care unit, refreshing of all common areas throughout the facility and fresh paint and new fixtures in all resident apartments. The dining room, activities room, fitness center, hair salon and sundries store were also reconfigured and modernized. The final phase included renovations to the beautiful chapel housed within the assisted living community.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is being hosted in collaboration with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce and will include remarks by Notre Dame Health Care leadership; Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty; City Manager Eric Batista; and Chamber President Tim Murray.
