Volunteers play an important role tutoring students at our Educational Bridge Center. The following are examples of the programs our tutors may assist:
- Basic high school math
- English vocabulary and grammar; reading, writing and conversational English
- Citizenship Preparation which consists of instruction on the 100 questions/answers they need to know to prepare for their interview to become a U.S. Citizen and the vocabulary contained on the N-400 application.
- Nursing school prep – tutoring for TEAS exam; individual subject study support
Our students are at different levels of need and also work many schedules that may change each week. Therefore, each tutor/student relationship is somewhat unique.
We prefer volunteers who have had experience teaching and who have the ability to work with a flexible schedule.
If you have an interest in becoming a tutor please contact Sue Strandberg, our Workforce Development Manager, to receive more information at 508-852-1589 x2504 or email Sue at sstrandberg@NotreDameHealthCare.org.
